Beginning with Maker Day in November 2023, FCIDC began working to bring Franklin County employers, high schools and tech centers together to highlight opportunities to seniors and students exploring their career options.
Maker Day featured tours to Med Associates, Vermont Precision Tools, Husky, Barry Callebaut, Perrigo Nutritionals, and Northwestern Medical Center. The response by schools and employers led FCIDC to begin coordinating monthly tours beginning in February with Mylan (a Viatris company), followed by Liquid Measurement Systems in March.
We are excited that April’s tour will be to the new BETA Technologies battery test facility in St. Albans followed by the May tour to Vermont Precision Tools, which started in Swanton in 1968.
Tours will continue in the 2024-2025 school year.
